SUMS Financial Aid & Scholarships

In order to help international students to afford pursuing their education, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences will award a variety of scholarships to the applicants demonstrating outstanding educational skills, academic achievements and good moral characters. All international students are eligible to apply for these scholarships and scholarship winners get notification of their awards via email, which includes one of the following scholarships:

Type C Scholarship:

SUMS Offers two types of type C scholarship:

Full Type C Scholarship

Type C Scholarship will cover all your expenses on a yearly basis except for the tuition fee and English Language Courses as shown in the following table:

Partial Type C Scholarship

If you are awarded Partial Type C Scholarship, depending on the type, any of Registration, Airport Pickup (in Shiraz), Accommodation, and Persian Language Classes will be waived between 1 up to 100 percent based on the decision of the Scholarship Committee.

Any student can be a potential candidate for type C scholarship offered at SUMS. Once you are granted a scholarship, we will extend the scholarship to the rest of your studies on a yearly basis depending on your academic performance and your moral character. Your personal and academic qualifications are the main factors of evaluation for extending your scholarship.

Type B Scholarship

Type B scholarship is a partial/full tuition-waiver scholarship. Based on the student’s qualifications and moral characters, on a yearly basis the Scholarship Committee decides how much discount they can get on their annual tuition fee.

Type A Scholarships

Type A scholarship exhibits the features of Type B Scholarship in addition to a salary paid on the monthly basis. Only Post Doctorate applicants are eligible for this type of scholarship. They will be evaluated based on their academic performance and moral character.

In addition to the life expenses pointed out in the table of expenses, students should be aware that other life expenses (including items of clothing, books, stationaries, food, dining out, etc.) for a single student is approximately between 200 to 300 U.S.D a month. None of SUMS scholarships cover such expenses.
