Following establishment of the medical university of Kashan in 1986 and admission of medical, nursing, and midwifery students with the permission of the Health Ministry in 1992, faculty of allied medical sciences started admission of undergraduate students in anesthesia, laboratory sciences, and operating room. The next year, undergraduate students of radiology joined to the above-mentioned majors and the initiating nucleus of the faculty of allied sciences was formed in that very year under the name of education department for the faculty of allied sciences. Since 1993 undergraduate and graduate students of environmental health and public health were admitted to the faculty supported by the education department of the faculty of allied medical sciences. Since 1996-1997 with the separation of health majors, the school of allied medical sciences was started and after that it was permitted to educate undergraduate medical records students. Also, from 1997-1998 discontinuous bachelor of laboratory sciences was added to the majors and the school of allied medical sciences was nominated as faculty of allied medical sciences then. Bachelor of medical records was added to this collection since 2000. Following attempts of the faculty's authorities and faculty members of the department of anesthesia, major of medical emergencies was added to the majors of the university in 2006. Since 2007-2008, this major was educated for four semesters in the faculty and after that faculty of nursing and midwifery took the responsibility of the major.

Due to the substitution of undergraduate levels of radiology, laboratory sciences, and anesthesia with bachelor of the same majors, faculty of allied medical sciences admitted students for those majors at the level of bachelor from the first semester of 2008-2009. Following conversion of undergraduate level of medical sciences to bachelor of health information technology, the faculty of allied medical sciences admitted students of health information technology since the second semester of 2009-2010.

Also, the department of medical records succeeded to admit students at the level of M.Sc. since the first semester of 2011-2012. And from the first semester of 2013-2014, based on the 43^rd session of the high council of planning for medical sciences on 2010/5/18, revised curriculum of master of medical sciences was announced and executed under the new title of health information technology. Accordingly, from this identical semester, the department was to educate postgraduate students in health information technology. Since the department of medical records was responsible for planning and educating the graduate and postgraduate students of health information technology, this department was nominated as department of management of health information technology from the first semester of 2011-2012. Also, according to the license No. 2707 of the high council of planning for medical sciences, this faculty was allowed to admit students of master of medical physics. Thus, department of radiology was nominated as department of medical physics and radiology. Following approval No.956 of the high council of planning for medical sciences, department of management and health information technology was allowed to admit doctoral students in health information management. Department of management and health information technology was allowed to launch a research centre in 2014.

At present, about 400 students are studying in this faculty and almost 2000 students have been graduated so far. Faculty of allied medical sciences is recruited with 15 faculty members and 20 staff. Faculty of allied medical sciences with an area of 3000 square meters and a three-story building is located on the west south of Kashan University of Medical Sciences. Basement of the faculty includes laboratories for different departments and cafeteria. The ground floor is consisted of six classrooms, amphitheatre, department of education, secretariat, and rooms for goods supplier and faculty members. The first floor includes library, computer site, academic departments, and offices of dean and vice-chancellor of education for the faculty.

It is to mention that following attempts of the authorities, faculty members, students, and the staff, this faculty stood the second among the faculties of allied medical sciences in 2005.
