About BUMS

History

Bam School of Nursing was the first institution of higher education established in Bam, Kerman. It began its activities in 1991 with 44 students. Following national scientific and educational development programs, it was reinvented as Bam University of Medical Sciences on Jun. 22, 2011, in the east of Kerman province. In Sept. 2011, two new departments, namely Midwifery and Medical Laboratory Sciences, were opened alongside Nursing. School of Medicine and School of Public Health were added in 2012, offering majors in Medicine, Public Health, Occupational Health Engineering and Safety, Health Services Management, Emergency Medicine (associate degree), and Environmental Health Engineering, with a total of 192 students accepted in nine different disciplines. The university has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, an anatomy museum, an e-library, 3 computer centers, self-service, and a mosque. Bam University of Medical Sciences offers its services to the eastern counties of Kerman province (Bam, Rigan, Fahraj, and Narmashir).
