History
The cardiology research center of Mazandaran was founded on March 16, 2015 after obtaining its permit (No 3757) from the extension council of ministry of health and medical education. The center started its activities in April, 2015 with the aim to expand and develop research in cardiology, and offer proper solutions for healthcare affairs. The cardiology research center is located within Hazrat Fatemeh cardiology hospital on Artesh boulevard in Sari, Mazandaran, and is chaired by Dr. Ali Ghaemian who holds an international fellowship in cardiology, in addition to being a professor in Mazandaran university of medical science. Enjoying decent multimedia and computer equipment and seasoned research experts, this center is ready to offer its contributions to all research plans.
Vision
We plan to be recognized as the best cardiology hospital in the north of the country in accordance to the Five-year vision plan document of Mazandaran university of medical science and the related ministry.
Mission
The mission of the center is to create the necessary infrastructure and environment for researchers to do the community’s required fundamental and applied studies with cardiovascular diseases on top of their priorities in order to improve the public health in the community, and produce science by utilizing the capabilities of researchers and professors, advanced equipment and facilities and forming relationship with domestic and foreign research centers within the boundaries of ethical standards in research.
Goals
Cardiovascular diseases are some of the new challenges of this age regarding the changes in lifestyles. Statistics reveal that a heart attack is the most likely reason for people’s death. Every year, 17.3 million people lose their lives due to cardiovascular diseases; this means, on average, every 1.8 seconds someone passes away because of this problem.
Only in Mazandaran, cardiovascular problems cause the death of 16 people every day. Many of these cases, however, can be prevented as among all non-contagious diseases, the risks of cardiovascular diseases are the most preventable of all. The cardiology research center of Mazandaran has aligned all its efforts to guard against cardiovascular diseases especially the coronary artery diseases with the following goals:
- Developing and implementing human science in cardiology
- Doing fundamental epidemiologic and clinical researches to reform the country’s healthcare system in order to respond to the needs of the community
- Collecting, sorting and classifying documents and essays and publishing them
- Training research human force in the field of cardiology
- Motivating, encouraging and employing researchers
- Attempting to attract the attention and contribution of related research and administrative centers across the country
- Academic cooperating with research and educational centers in other countries and international organizations observing the laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran
